The NHBC Buildmark Warranty,  ZUrich Building Guarantee  & CHECKMATE BUILDING GUARANTEE SCHEME

All Mizen's new build properties are sold with the added comfort and benefit of a 10 Year Structural Warranty arranged through either the National House-Building Council (NHBC), Zurich Building Guarantee (ZBGS) or through Checkmate Building Guarantee Scheme (CBGS).  Your solicitor should provide you with a copy of the respective Warranty pack and the relevant details attaching to your property upon the exchange of contracts and inside you’ll find details of the scheme, including the date on which it becomes effective.

The cover offered by these policies have two stages:

1. An initial guarantee period which extends for two years from the date of the Ten Year Notice and provides for the putting right of any defect or damage to your home caused by faulty workmanship or materials.
2. A structural guarantee period which extends for eight years from the end of the initial guarantee period to the expiry of the Ten Year Notice. This insures you against major damage due to a defect in the structure or damage to the drainage system caused by non-compliance with the NHBC’s, ZBGS's or CBGS's technical requirements.
